BWS - CREATIVE SENIOR MONTH
May 3-15, 2011
BWS members over the age of 50 have been invited to exhibit in a themed show at The Venue, Fine Art and Gifts as part of Creative Senior Month. The exhibit will take place over the May 6-8 weekend, and that includes First Friday, Graduation at I.U., and Mother’s Day, all three!
INFORMATION
Who: This exhibit features the work of BWS members, 50 years of age and above, as part of Creative Senior Month in Bloomington.
The Theme: I.U. Landscapes and Mother’s Day.
The Medium: Watermedia, not just limited to transparent watercolors
The Maximum Size: 24” in either direction, including mat and frame.
The Maximum Selling Price: $350 - ALL PAINTINGS MUST BE FOR SALE
Commission: The Venue retains 50% of all sales.
Framing: All pieces must be appropriately framed using flat D-hooks and wire. No toothed hangers and no eye hooks are allowed.
Registration: In order that we may have an idea of the number of paintings entered, please register by contacting Jeanne.Dutton@att.net, or contact Jeanne by calling 812-331-1628. Register no later than April 11.
VOLUNTEERS to DEMO WATERCOLOR PAINTING
You are invited to set up on the porch at the Venue on Friday, May 6; Saturday, May 7; and/or Sunday, May 8. Please let Jeanne know if you would like to sit for a couple hours and do plein air painting. You do not have to participate in the exhibit to volunteer – everyone is welcome! Bring your paint pal with you and enjoy the beautiful spring day.
IMPORTANT DATES
· APRIL 11: Deadline to register with Jeanne.
· APRIL 26-MAY 1: Deliver paintings to the Venue
· MAY 3: Exhibit opens
· MAY 6, First Friday: Opening Reception, 5:30 - ??
· MAY 13: Closing Reception 5:30 - ??
· MAY 15: Show closes
Paintings may be picked up after May 15 during business hours at the Venue.
The Venue reserves the right to determine if a painting is appropriate for hanging and, depending upon the number of paintings submitted, all paintings may not necessarily be hung at the same time. Some paintings may be invited to hang for a longer period of time. The Venue curator will discuss this with the individual artists.
