DATES and UPDATES

BWS Monthly Meeting
Monday, March 10, 6:00 p.m.
MCPL Room 1C

We have had a change in the program for this meeting. Linda Meyer-Wright is unable to be there and, instead, we will have an opportunity to sketch and paint still-life!

Jacki Frey will discuss the principles and elements of design, including unity, composition, and shadow and the importance of pre-sketching.

Supply list:
Sketch pad or paper
Paint supplies
We will have a couple still life set-ups to sketch and paint. As usual, it should be fun!

A huge Thank You to Jeanne Iler for her excellent demonstration last month of Chinese Brush and Ink Painting. What a great experience!

Annual Membership Show

July is our annual membership show to be held at Gallery North on the Square. The opening reception is Gallery Walk Friday, so keep painting! Tricia Wente will be providing all the information in the upcoming months. Watch for it!

DEADLINES:

Monday, March 10 is the deadline for two important items:

1. Signature Status applications must be submitted to Jeanne Iler no later than the meeting Monday evening. Contact Jeanne at jeanne2@bluemarble.net. Applications have been emailed to all members, but if you need one, let us know!

2. Rod Crossman workshop: the $35 fee is due at the meeting Monday! We have a full house and people "waiting in the wings," so be sure to get your registration fees in before the end of the meeting. After that, unpaid spaces will be opened up to those on the waiting list.

WELCOME

to new member Betty Wagoner of Martinsville! Glad to have you with us!

CONGRATULATIONS

Each year, Lt. Governor Becky Skillman offers a competition which honors Hoosier women artists, and the chosen few (only five in 2007) will have their work exhibited in her office at the State House for one year. This year, BWS artist Jeanne Iler's painting, "Red Cardinal in Birch Trees," was chosen. Congratulations, Jeanne!!

A reception will be held later this month in Indianapolis to present the winners.
