ELECTIONS
Your new BWS officers have been elected, and it is a pleasure to announce that they are:
Nancy Davis Metz, President
Jeanne Ellen Dutton, 1st Vice President
Shelly Ritter, 2nd Vice President
Returning officers, to whom we are very grateful, are:
Carol Rhodes, Treasurer
Jo Weddell, Secretary
Committees will be announced in January by Nancy, and anyone who is interested in serving on a committee, please let her know.
We could use a couple people for a clean-up committee after the meetings. It only takes a few minutes, but it's an important detail to leave the church as sparkling as we find it - that way, we know we will be welcome!

ACCOLADES and KUDOS

Gillian Harris' watercolor of Goldenseal, "Hydrastis canadensis" (a native woodland plant) has just been accepted into the American Society of Botanical Artists' travelling exhibit titled "Losing Paradise? Endangered Plants Here and Around the World." The exhibition will open at the Missouri Botanical Garden in St. Louis October 2009, then will go to Chicago, New York, The Smithsonian, and California.

Several BWS members exhibited at the Brown County Art Guild "Senior Show," including Jacki Frey and Bob Thrasher.

Bob also had a painting in the membership show in June which was a winter scene of Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington. Bob printed some cards from this painting and sent them to his daughter whose husband teaches at Gonzaga. The cards are now being sold at an interior decorating shop in Spokane.

The Indiana Artists Club has an membership exhibit at the Columbus Learning Center located at 4555 Central Ave, Columbus. Take the opportunity to visit this facility and view the show before it ends on January 9; you will be very impressed with the building as well as the artwork.
Connie Brorson won a merit award of $100; and Jacki Frey, Tricia Wente and Jean Vietor also displayed their work. The following images are works in order by these artists. (Thanks to Susan Blunck for the photos...and we apologize for the glare from the extensive wall of glass!)

HAPPY HOLIDAYS
T'is the season to be jolly, for sure! It's also a time to reflect on our blessings of friends and family, a time to be grateful for the God-given talents we, as artists, are so fortunate to have. I wish you all the very best of holidays, full of happiness and joy, and extend my heartfelt thanks to every single officer, committee chair, and member who has made this such a successful year for BWS, and an incredibly fulfilling year for me, your out-going president.

Fondly,
Jeanne
