BRUSHSTROKES

March 2010

DATES and UPDATES
BWS Monthly Meeting
Monday, March 8
6:00 p.m.
First Christian Church
Corner of Kirkwood and Washington.
Please use the Washington Street Entrance.
After a short business meeting, BWS member Linda Meyer-Wright will present a program called “Texture beyond salt.” Says Linda, “There are more texture tricks in watercolor than throwing salt in the stew. We'll play with ways to include texture in your paintings that add flavor without always revealing what spice you used. (Please forgive the painfully extended metaphor.) Just bring a full sheet of paper to play on and your usual painting stuff. I'll dig up some other stuff to use.”

NEW FEATURE ON BLOOMINGTONWATER.ORG
From Kriste Lindberg:
We want to let you know the new, dual "Road Trips" (field trip opportunities) and "Road Shows" (opportunities for displaying your artwork) page is up and running on our BWS Web site. Go to bloomingtonwatercolor.org.
Click on”News and Activities,” then click “Organize a "Road Trip" or get involved in a "Road Show!"
Next, click on “Use our new "Road Trips and Shows" bulletin board!”
This is an area for members to post activities and opportunities you would like company on and/or think others would enjoy participating in. All members are welcome to post.
The concept is new to us and we are looking for input. We're sure there will be suggestions, which is good. We can make changes as the site evolves.
Check it out - navigate around, reply to posts, add your own posts - and let me know what you think (please reply directly to me at kriste.lindberg@gmail.com).

Thanks to Kriste, Carol Rhodes and Nancy Metz for helping make "Road Trips" and "Road Shows" a reality!
