Brush Strokes, March 2007

Dates and Updates
The BWS meeting is Monday, March 12, 6:00 p.m.
NOTE THE LOCATION CHANGE!!
We are back at the Monroe County Library and in for a treat!

For minutes of the February 12 meeting, see Comments, below.

Pygmalion’s, art supply store and much more, is sponsoring a program about art supplies. Tom and Jane from Pygmalion's will be joined by Ed Brickler, a representative of Canson Papers which also distributes Arches paper. Mr. Brickler will discuss the ranges of paper surfaces and weights and how paint works on each surface and introduce many of us to Ampersand Clayboard. In addition, Tom and Jane will present information about other materials and supplies, including Yupo, Fredericks watercolor canvas, and frosted Mylar.
Jane will also do a segment on watercolor crayons and pencils.

This will be a hands-on program with opportunities for BWS members to try out the materials. Samples will also be provided by Pygmalion’s and Canson. This looks to be a most informative program you won’t want to miss.

BAKER PLACE GALLERY
Jonna Risher, coordinator of the Baker Place Gallery, reports the owners are currently having the new hanging system installed and hope to have it finished sometime this month, possibly right after spring break. Watch for updates on this opportunity to display your art work.
