Carol Rhodes, treasurer, presented her report, stating that the balance is $1963.08. The motion was passed.

Election of Officers
Alice Sharp thanked the current officers and introduced the slate of officers for 2009, which includes Nancy Davis Metz, president; Jeanne Dutton, 1st vice president; Shelly Ritter, 2nd vice president; Jo Weddle, secretary; and Carol Rhodes, treasurer. Alice thanked Jo and Carol for accepting their positions for another year. The membership voted unanimously to accept the slate of officers as presented.

Pouring Paint Workshop
There are four remaining seats for Jeanne Iler’s Pouring Paint Workshop on Sunday, November 16, from 1:00 – 3:00. It will be held at Tricia Wente’s Art House on West 17th Street. It was suggested that a sign be posted at the entrance to the driveway, and Jeanne Dutton will do that on Sunday. Jeanne also thanked Jeanne Iler for offering the workshop, and Tricia for loaning her Art House to BWS.

Christmas/Holiday Party
The annual Christmas/holiday party and installation of officers will take place at Gallery North on the Square on our regular meeting night, Monday, December 8, at 6:30. The Bloomington Cooking School will cater the event. Members may bring wine, and Oliver Winery’s Sky Dog wine will be served along with a non-alcoholic punch and spiced cider.

Tina Allgood, 2nd vice president, is organizing the event, and will need volunteers to set up at 5:30, and volunteers to help clean up afterward. An email will be sent to members asking for volunteers and card tables.

The tickets are $10 per member, and $12 for guests. Reservations must be made by December 1.

There will be a holiday decoration contest with prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places. The only rules are, it has to be 3-D, and it has to be watercolor….the ornaments will serve as centerpieces, and the members will vote to determine the winners! Bring your entry with you to the party.

By-Laws
Jeanne announced that the by-laws had been approved by a 2/3 majority of the membership. Cathy Korinek asked about posting them on the website, and that will be done soon.

There was no other old business.

NEW BUSINESS
Library Exhibiting Opportunity
Shelly Ritter recently had an exhibit at the downtown Monroe County Public Library in their hallway gallery. Prices are not allowed to be posted, but the artist’s name, the medium, and the title may be posted. Business cards may be left also. Shelly brought and shared application forms.

Connie Brorson announced she will be exhibiting in the City Hall Atrium throughout the month of December and invited everyone to come take a look at the show. BWS will be holding its membership show there in 2009.

Jeanne thanked Kathy Karnes, Susan Blunck, and Nancy Metz for bringing refreshments.

Jacki Frey moved to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Dan Alexander, and then Jacki led the group in a creative painting exercise.

Respectfully submitted,
Jeanne Dutton
